Shanghai, March 24 (Shanghai)-The rare earth market was generally stable last week, with small fluctuations in neodymium, terbium, and dysprosium. The quotation from the separation plant is very high, and it is reluctant to ship. Inquiries from metal factories and magnetic materials factories were dull, with a strong wait-and-see atmosphere and few transactions. Some companies expect the price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide to rise to 700,000 yuan/ton in the first half of 2021, and some market participants believe that the price will fluctuate around 600,000 yuan/ton.

Light rare earth: On March 19, the quotation of neodymium praseodymium products rose slowly to 575,000-580,000 yuan/ton, and the average price increased by 6,500 yuan/ton from the beginning of last week. Pr and neodymium metals are quoted at 720,000-730000 yuan/ton, a few quoted prices are at 740,000 yuan/ton, and the average price of the week has risen by 10,000 yuan/ton. Some smelting and sorting companies in Sichuan are still in short supply of neodymium praseodymium, and their self-produced praseodymium and neodymium oxide are almost sold out to ensure the supply of raw materials for the affiliated metal plants. The quotations of lanthanum and cerium were basically stable last week. The weekly average price of lanthanum metal rose 400 yuan/ton to 29,500 yuan/ton, and the mainstream price of cerium metal was 29,500-31,500 yuan/ton, the same as the previous week.

Medium and Heavy Rare Earths: As of March 19, the quotation of gadolinium oxide fell sharply from 236,000 yuan/ton to 240,000 yuan/ton, and the weekly average price was lowered by 990 yuan/ton from the previous week. According to some smelting and sorting plants, the current trading price of gadolinium oxide has been lowered to 220,000 yuan/ton. As of March 19, the quotation of terbium oxide has risen to 9900-9950 yuan/kg, the average price has risen by 75 yuan/kg from the beginning of last week, and the dysprosium oxide quotation has risen to 3010-3030 yuan/kg, of which the average price this week has risen by 30/ Kilogram. Holders of terbium and dysprosium are generally optimistic about the market. It is expected that the price of terbium oxide will rise to 12,000 yuan/kg in the first half of the year, and the price of dysprosium oxide will rise to 4,000 yuan/kg.

In the listing price of medium and heavy rare earths announced by Southern Rare Earth last week, the average price of terbium oxide increased by 50,000 yuan/ton to 9.9 million yuan/ton, and the average price of dysprosium oxide increased by 40,000 yuan/ton a week to 3.08 million yuan/ton. The average price of lutetium increased by 20,000 yuan/ton to 5.35 million yuan/ton from the previous week, and the average price of gadolinium oxide decreased by 13,000 yuan/ton to 234,500 yuan/ton. The average price of holmium oxide decreased by 50,000 yuan/ton to 5 yuan from the previous week. Ten thousand yuan/ton. Prices of other medium and heavy rare earth oxides remained flat.

In the fierce competition between upstream and downstream enterprises, the downstream acceptance of high raw material prices will become the focus. SMM predicts that the prices of neodymium, terbium, and dysprosium will remain high and rise slightly this week, while the prices of gadolinium, yttrium, and holmium will run at a relatively low level.
